Can God's love shine through people? Yes,Even if it is at Food Lion. This is my experience that I had with a shopper in the check out line. It was Thursday night, My Grandmother and I had just gone to see a Christmas performance at Indian trail first baptist church. On our way home my grandmother told me that we needed to stop at the Food Lion because she was all out of milk. We pulled into the parking lot and she had complained that her feet were hurting because of the shoes she had on. So, like a good granddaughter should do I offered to go inside and buy it for her. 5 dollar bill in hand, I entered the store went all the way to the back to pick up Maw maw's 1% milk and made my way back up to the front. [note: it was 9:40 at night] I looked for an open self check out, there was none open. I looked for a check out line and there was only one open. Of course the one line that was open had four other people with their random items. I got in the line. There were three other people in front of me. An African American man, An African American woman, and An American woman.(and a woman at the check out.) The man in the front was complaining," The sign says that there are 6 cupcakes for 3$ and there is only four here!" The check out lady said," Sir, please count these cupcakes you have here." The man," 1-2-3-4----oh 5-6! well this is still ridiculous I can't believe this!" The man left the store with all 6 of his cupcakes. The Lady behind him had six 2 liters of sodas and left without problem. Then there was the last lady at the check out. She had her pudding cups and she was pulling money out of her wallet she looked at me and said," Wow I love your outfit! did you put that together yourself!?!" I replied," Yes, I did."[NOTE: I was very dressed up since I went to the church thing] She quickly responded," Do you want to go into the fashion industry? You have GREAT taste!" I replied," Maybe, I enjoy event designing... its my family's business." She the said," Now Darling, what church do you go to?" I said," Its in the university area and its called The Branch Family Church." She responded," You live all the way in the university area!?" (note: I live in Matthews) I said," Oh no! I live in this area." She said ,Oh, well I go to Carmel Baptist church." I said," Oh, I have friends that go to the high school there." She said," Well, it was nice talking to you. The love of God is very evident in who you are. Have a blessed Christmas." The woman left the store. That entire conversation only lasted about 3-5 minutes..... When I left the store with my purchased milk in hand I got in the car and told my Grandmother all that happened. So you guys see? God can work through you in mysterious ways and it is very evident..... Even in the Food lion!
